How does Seed27 work?
Founders record a short pitch video. Investors browse pitches in their feed, and when an investor swipes right on your pitch, you can start a conversation directly in the app.
Is Seed27 free?
Yes. Creating a profile, posting a pitch, browsing and starting conversations on Seed27 are free for founders and investors.
What stage does my business need to be at?
Any stage is welcome. Whether you are at the idea stage, building an MVP, generating early revenue, or running a more mature business, you can pitch on Seed27 for free.
What is a founder cheque?
A founder cheque is early investment in your own startup to help you build it full time. Founders can pitch for this funding on Seed27, but investment is not guaranteed. The amount, equity and any founder salary are agreed directly with the investor and the startup.
What do I need to pitch on Seed27?
Classify your business as a Founder Cheque, Pre-seed, or Seed stage raise. At a minimum, record a pitch on your phone in good lighting and a quiet space. For Pre-seed and Seed pitches, we also expect a pitch deck. When you reach the raising stage, you will need a company setup, business bank account, supporting documents, and SEIS approval if relevant. We can help you get started.
Who can see pitches?
Pitches are visible only to investors who meet the relevant criteria: self-certified high-net-worth or sophisticated investors in the UK, and accredited investors in the US.
What level of input in the deal does Seed27 have?
None. Seed27 is a discovery platform, not a party to the deal. Any terms, due diligence, or agreement are negotiated directly and independently between founders and investors.
How much should I raise?
This is all about you and your idea. How much do you need? There is no one-size-fits-all answer.
What makes a good pitch?
Clarity and honesty. Explain what you are building, why it matters, and why you are the person to build it, in plain language, in under three minutes.
